I met Stephanie Moss and her team at her salon in the Village Pointe shopping area of Omaha earlier this year, and was immediately struck by what a tight-knit group of women they are.

Many of the stylists and aestheticians have worked with Stephanie for a number of years and have carved out specific niches within the salon's services (including balayage, microblading, lash extensions, hydra facials, and, of course,  hair color and styling) where they can really shine. Stephanie says it's no accident. She is always intentional about creating a supportive environment where everyone can thrive.

"As business leaders, it is our job to set our teams up for success," Stephanie says. "We must give them the tools and guidance they need to create their own strongest path."

Now on the verge of opening her second location in Omaha's Countryside Village, Stephanie says this intentionality is one of the many secrets of her success. Here are a few of the things she does that work for her and her team.

  • Each year we privately bring in an international personal development facilitator. This allows our team to deliver a stronger experience for their guests and to feel confident in their delivery.
  • We develop lead teams within the company that go through significant training to ensure that every new hire has the confidence and training they need to succeed.
  • One of my favorite things is when our team gets together once a month for what we call our "best yets." It's a time when we celebrate everyone's WINS in the company.

Stephanie says that creating an empowering work environment always comes back to investing in the growth of everyone on the team. "At the end of the day, they're the ones who inspire me."
