TWTW (23-30.March)

Ciao! It's a big spring weekend with Passover starting tonight and Easter on Sunday. We've been invited to brunch at my sister-in-law's home and dinner at my sister's so it should be a festive, family-filled time.

I'll bring some type of appetizer (still TBD) and this beautiful salad which is totally intriguing me with its flavor and texture combinations. I suspect it's going to be a bit of a job searching out some of these ingredients this time of year, so I sure hope it tastes as amazing as it looks.

Omaha's March for Our Lives

Omaha's March for Our Lives

Did you participate in the March For Our Lives last week? I had planned to march with my family but it wound up being too cold to bring the girls. You bet I was there along with about 1,500 neighbors. Afterwards, I was able to catch the coverage of the speeches in D.C. Every single one of them (including Yolanda Marie King and Naomi Wadler moved me to tears, but I will never forget the feeling I had watching Emma Gonzalez's short, powerful speech and her long -- even more powerful -- moments of silence.

After the March, I went down to Lincoln, NE to visit my bff Tony and see Run The Jewels and Lorde. This is the second show I've been to at Lincoln's Pinnacle Arena and I'm super impressed with it. It's immaculately clean (even at the end of the show) and it feels intimate, even though it is a full-sized arena.

We spent Saturday night at Lincoln's Graduate Hotel, which I found completely charming. Graduate locations are popping up in college towns all around the country and they're definitely on my watch list.

This was the week that egg spoons really hit my radar... and also became a feminist issue.

I'm no seamstress, but I'm completely enamored of this news that Wiki has released more than 80,000 pre-1992 vintage sewing patterns for free. Think of all the amazing talent that will inspire!

My friends at The Salonniere released their annual list of the top 100 hostesses in America. It includes Solange Knowles (is there anything she doesn't do with style?), Reese Witherspoon (same) and Oprah (yep).

If you're celebrating Passover or Easter this weekend, I hope it's a peaceful, joyful time! Bon weekend!
